Over decades, large N Matrix models have played a key role in quantum geometry, string theory and the holographic correspondence. Recent years have witnessed conceptual, analytic and numerical advances in this field. These advances have provided a deeper understanding of how these and related models lead to emergent space in various contexts, leading to non-perturbative formulations of string theory and quantum gravity.
The aim of this one week workshop is to assess recent progress in the field, formulate future challenges and new ideas, and strengthen scientific collaboration.
