Topological field theory and, more generally, modular functors, defined
on three-manifolds with boundaries has various applications in physics
and in mathematics. We describe a state-sum construction based on
non-semisimple categories and its applications. This includes
in particular the description of the Brauer-Picard group of a finite
tensor category and the equivariant Frobenius-Schur indicator.
