What if string theory has a de Sitter excited state?

Keshav Dasgupta (McGill U)

Jul 18. 2024, 14:00 — 14:30

In this talk I'll discuss why a four-dimensional de Sitter space exists only as an excited state in string theory and not as a vacuum state. This state differs from a usual coherent state and is called a Glauber-Sudarshan state.
