Lecture: Introduction to BMS symmetries and "asymptotic gravity vacua" from a geometric perspective

Yannick Herfray (ULB, Brussels)

Sep 10. 2021, 11:00 — 12:00

In this lecture I will review some basic facts about asymptotically flat space-times and their asymptotic symmetries (BMS-group). I will follow an invariant perpsective more suited for geometers. If time permit I will discuss the physically essential notion of "asymptotic gravity vacua" and their degeneracy.
