Cartan Geometries 1

Andreas Cap (U of Vienna)

Aug 23. 2021, 11:00 — 12:00

In this first lecture, I will introduce the general concept of Cartan geometries and some general features of such geometries. After discussing seversl simple examples, I will give a more detailed description of the canonical Cartan geometry associated to a conformal structure. On this example, I will explain the relation to other descriptions of conformal structures (e.g. tractor bundles and the ambient metric).
