Orthogonal circle patterns, as a standard discrete analog of conformal structure, have important applications in the approximation of minimal surfaces and in analytic functions. In this talk, we will introduce some recent progress on the study of orthogonal circle patterns, including the Ring Lemma and a new rigidity theorem, and suggest some possible directions for future research.
