On the classification problem for static metrics with positive cosmological constant

An enduring challenge in mathematical general relativity lies in classifying static solutions to the vacuum Einstein field equations when a positive cosmological constant is present. This problem is closely related to defining a relevant concept of mass within this framework. In this presentation, I will discuss some recent advances on these questions.
