Boundaries of random walks on (hyperbolic) groups

Pierre Mathieu (U Aix-Marseille)

Jul 17. 2023, 09:30 — 10:15

I will recall the two classical constructions of boundaries of groups from random walks: the Martin and Poisson boundaries, and discuss the case of Gromov hyperbolic groups. This part of the talk will be introductory.

The second part of the talk will be about yet another notion of boundary called the reflected boundary and I will report on joint work with Tokushige Yuki.
