We discuss the technical challenges associated with computing collider observables corrected up to the third non-trivial order in QCD perturbation theory. We will in particular discuss recent progress on multi-loop integrals and amplitudes, on subtraction methods and on applications to specific (yet simple) processes. The talk will be on the blackboard.
