Entropy at infinity in negative curvature and applications

Samuel Tapie (U Lorraine)

Jul 20. 2023, 15:10 — 15:50

In this talk, I will first recall some classical notions of entropies for groups acting on metric spaces and geodesic flows on negatively curved manifolds. I will then introduce the associated notions of entropy at infinity and critical gap, and explain several applications to orbital counting, Laplace spectrum on locally symmetric spaces and mixing of the geodesic flow.
