Computational and analytical approaches for pattern formation in nonlocal mathematical models for biological aggregations: from animal movement to cell movement

In this presentation I review some of the 1D/2D/3D hyperbolic and kinetic models developed over the past few years to investigate non-local interactions in animal aggregations (as a result of short-distance and long-distance communication), as well as non-local interactions in cell aggregations. To understand the temporal and spatio-temporal evolution of these models, various analytical and numerical approaches are employed.
