Over the past few years, the newly discovered relation between Feynman integrals in quantum field theory and Grothendieck’s theory of motives of algebraic varieties has become a topic of growing importance in the panorama of theoretical and mathematical physics. In particular, the field has developed along different parallel lines, and one of the pressing needs at the moment is to create more interaction between researchers involved in the various different aspects of this area of research. In particular, we single out four different directions among which we hope to stimulate new interactions:
There is a Master Class from March 2 - 6, 2015 (schedule, abstracts) followed by a Research Meeting from March 9 - 13, 2015 (schedule, abstracts) in which these topics will be the focus.
There is limited NSF funding for graduate students and junior researchers at US institutions available for travel as well as local funding. Junior researchers must have completed their PhD after 2010. To request funding, please send your CV to esifunding@math.bu.edu. Graduate students should also ask a supervisor to send a short email of support.
There is limited funding available for young researchers from Europe too. Application ends Jan 31, 2015. Junior researchers from Europe seeking funding to attend should apply to Ryszard Nest and include two letters of reference.
Coming soon.
