We will discuss some structural differences between the space of subgroups of the free group on two generators and that of Baumslag Solitar groups, focusing on their perfect kernel (the largest closed subset without isolated points) and on the restriction of the conjugacy action on it. This is based on a joint work with Carderi and Gaboriau and a joint work with Carderi, Gaboriau and Stalder.
