In amorphous materials, plasticity manifests itself as localised irreversible deformation, giving rise to a mechanical field of the Eshelby inclusion type [3], as well as a local increase in temperature [2]. In this presentation, we shall first discuss the mechanical signature of plasticity, in particular its effect on the propagation of acoustic waves, followed by its effect on local heating and its related expression in the materials thermo-mechanical constitutive law. Finally, we will discuss how it can modify heat transport, drawing on the universal theory of heat transport recently developed for materials with complex structures [1].
