Glassy dynamics in the quantum regime is of interest both from a physics perspective as well as for potential applications in quantum computing. Here, we reformulate liquid-state dynamics in a suitable way for addressing these aspects and compare the advantages and disadvantages of different approaches.
Quantum mode-coupling theories for glassy dynamics have been formulated for the Kubo-transformed density-density correlation functions, which are real and resemble their classical counterparts. In contrast, we elaborate on the thermal correlators, whose spectrum is the dynamic structure factor.
We compare the results with other extensions of MCT and highlight the qualitative effects introduced by the additional terms.
