Requirements for the next mock challenge

I will review results from a recent beyond-2pt mock challenge, highlight limitations in interpreting the results and how these relate to the mock challenge design in terms of simulation volumne and number of realizations. Furthermore, the beyond-2pt mock challenges as well as other mock challenges for 2pt statistcs, were based on mock galaxy catalogs that were explictly known to be based on parametric HOD galaxy assignments. As upcoming surveys will primarily target emission line galaxies (ELGs), there is a clear need to move beyond HOD-based galaxy assignments.
These considerations provide a basis to discuss design requirements for a next mock challenge in the parameter space of simulation resolution, simulation volume, and number of realizations, that should be informed by the analyses envisioned by the workshop participants.
