I will present recent joint work with Nicolussi in which we introduce inner product spaces of higher rank, study their Voronoi decompositions, and use the framework to describe metric degeneration of tori.

The results are applied in the study of asymptotic geometry of Riemann surfaces and their moduli spaces.
