The International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) is the most prestigious mathematics competition for secondary school students. The Middle European Mathematical Olympiad (MEMO) is a regional mathematics competitions initiated by Austria and Poland that serves to improve cooperation between Austria, Poland and many of their neighboring countries as well as preparation of younger students for future IMO teams.
The Erwin Schrödinger International Institute for Mathematics and Physics in cooperation with the project MmF will organize a training week for the IMO and MEMO teams. The training will be simultaneously with the training of the International Physics Olympiad to make it possible for the students to interact across disciplinary boundaries. Six of the mathematics students will compete in the CPS-match with Czech, Polish and Slovak teams directly after the training week at IST Austria.
The mathematics training week will focus on the core subject areas of the IMO, Algebra, Combinatorics, Geometry, and Number Theory.
The autumn training takes place from October 26 - 31, 2022 at the Faculty of Mathematics.
