Research in Teams Project: Quantum algorithms for privacy-preserving dada processing in computers

This research project aims to develop encryption schemes that can be implemented by small-scale quantum computers, such as currently existing systems at the University of Vienna. A main focus will be put on the concept of encoded quantum random walks that can be implemented by a photonic quantum computer. Conversely, insights into experimental implementations will be used for setting benchmarks for the privacy of the encoded information as well as for designing robust protocols that can be implemented on a broad range of quantum computer architectures.

Research Team: Joseph Fitzsimons (Singapore University of Technology and Design and Centre for Quantum Technologies), Philip Walther (U Vienna)
