ESI-EMS-IAMP Summer School on Mathematical Relativity: 99 years of general relativity

July 28 - August 1, 2014

at the Faculty of Physics - U Vienna (around the corner from ESI),

Strudlhofgasse 4, 1st floor, room 3103: Lise Meitner Lecture Hall:

Mathematical General Relativity is a timely topic, with outstanding recent progress in the field by many authors, with growing interest both in the physics and mathematical community. The aim of the school is to provide an introduction to the topics which are currently being studied. The target audience is graduate students and postdocs, both physicists and mathematicians, interested in mathematical general relativity. The lecture series are scheduled as follows:

"Introduction to differential geometry", Robert Beig (U Vienna); 2 hours
"Introduction to general relativity", Marc Mars (U of Salamanca); 5
"Lorentzian causality", Gregory Galloway (U of Miami); 5
"Constraint equations", Justin Corvino (Lafayette College); 5
"The Evolution problem in general relativity", Hans Ringström (KTH Stockholm); 5
"Wave equations on black hole space-times", Gustav Holzegel (Imperial College); 5
"The galactic center", Stefan Gillessen (MPI for extraterrestrial Physics, Garching); 2
