The ESI Senior Resaerch Fellow Programme
To stimulate interaction with the local scientific community the Erwin Schrödinger International
Institute for Mathematical Physics offers lecture courses and research seminars at an advanced
graduate level. These courses and seminars are taught by Senior Research Fellows of the ESI whose
stays in Vienna are supported by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science and Research and the
University of Vienna. The Senior Research Fellows programme also supports extended visits by senior
researchers to the ESI without formal teaching duties.
In bringing together young researchers working in Vienna and senior scientists from abroad, the
ESI Senior Research Fellows programme contributes in an effective way to the scientific training of
graduate students and post docs affiliated with the University of Vienna and the Vienna University of
Technology. It has also been very successful as a launch pad for a variety of research projects and
scientific collaborations.
